Wedding Worthy Fabrics ~ and How Am I Doing??😄
I’m inspired by all the people you’ve inspired to start sewing again. WTG ❤. Including moi 😊
Yay!! Happy to hear it!!👏👏
They look great!!! My aunt was a simtress. She made my twin sisters close she didn't know how to make boys close. She She it was difficult to make.
Avast mateys!! The pirate shirt came out great and Brad wears it well. And the circle dress was the perfect choice pattern for that fabric! Y’all are a great couple. Thanks for another thoroughly enjoyable video!! Love you guys ❤
The dress you’re wearing looks wonderful on you! I love the dress and the fabric. And I am stalking the usual vendors for that pattern. I think that makes you somewhat of an enabler, although I do live my fabric and pattern shopping by watching your hauls😂.
❤ your style🤩
I love your last ensemble. The colours, the fabric, the style, so lovely. Wish you and your family a very nice holiday!❤
Viv, you are looking so young! Love your vids Viv. 😊
Ah bless you, dear girl!💕
Great job. You inspire me.
❤
I love this video! In the past I made maybe 3 or 4 pieces in a month so your output is amazing to me! And inspiring because everything fits and the fabrics are perfect. That little new look dress that you made into a nightgown, it’s been hanging around my sewing room for a while, and I was just thinking of making it, so very glad that I saw your make because I would want to remove a lot of that excess fabric also. And the little Vogue top, I love the way that looked with your pants. You choose the best fabrics for each pattern! Thank you, thank you thank you ❤❤❤
What a wonderful note, Dee, thank you!!❤️
So happy to have found you… love love love you and your videos ☺️👏👏 Thank you so much for all of the inspiration, motivation and cheerful chat vivmom.. I am spending way too much in patterns!!!😘 Have a wonderful vacation in CA💕Xxx
I love your video and all of your outfits. When you said your first blouse was so easy to make , I ran out and bought the pattern. It took me 2 hrs to make a leopard print blouse. I love it. Thank you for motivating me.❤😊
Absolutely love the Christmas dress, it’s beautiful and looks wonderful on you! I definitely think I may need one ❤
That must be a Hobby Lobby from heaven! And just in time for a fabric sale. I love everything about this trip, especially the mother/ daughter collaborative video!! Thanks for bringing me along 😂
Love, love, love your channel. I have been binge watching you ever since discovering you. I really appreciate how you review your patterns and fabrics. You are SO GOOD at pairing the fabric with the pattern!
Love your styles Vivmom
Thanks, I’ve never put sleeves in like that, but think I’ll give it a try. On the flat…
Love the tour!! New ideas for storage and organization. I’m feeling a bit under the weather today but watching your show is perking me up!🩵🧡🩷 Thank you !
Hi Viv, just catching up - you look great in all of the outfits! Have a lovely holiday! Kind regards from Penny 🇬🇧😊💕
How is the water in your ear now? Did you try laying on a heating pad on low? As kids when we got water in our ear at the pool, we would lay on the concrete with that ear down I always love your videos and sews
Aw thanks Katherine! You’re very thoughtful. I still have it in my ear - it’s like I can feel it sort of sloshing around in there and I can’t get to it. I’ll try the heating pad solution - thanks!
I also wan5 to say, I think you are hilarious and I find myself looking for old kwik sew patterns again . So thank you.
What in the world happened? I thought I felt the earth move the other night. lol
😂😂
Thank you
Indeed, in Europe they are quite expensive and Burda is not really an alternative. What I find most surprising is that is nearly impossible to find a good vintage pattern for nightgowns/feminine sleepware. I cannot understand why they do not reprint them. Beside that, most pattern are out of fashion and when a new pattern arrives, it is already out of fashion. Are they doing this on purpose?
What do you mean put your sleeves in flat, could you show us please?
Hi sidneyann! “Set in” sleeves, or sleeves inserted in the round, are put in after the shoulder and side seams are sewn. The sleeve is completed (sewn at the underarm seam and hemmed) and then put into the hole awaiting it. This often requires a light gathering at the sleeve arch so that it can be eased in. Sleeves put in flat are sewn on before the side seams are complete. They are laid right sides together with the bodice (shoulder seams already sewn) and attached “flat.” Hope that helps!
Love, love the second pantset
Thanks! It made a great flying outfit😄
I’ve always enjoyed your creative talents with your sewing. I love seeing these patterns pop to life with your fabric choices. Have you mentioned your height or pattern size that that you are before? How do you keep in shape?
Thanks Mary! I am 5’8” and usually sew a size 12 or 14 in commercial patterns - despite being a DDD cup I do not do formal bust adjustments. I just match the finished garment measurements and don’t add to or subtract from them, since wearing ease is built in. I was in great shape last summer when Zinnia was new and we were walking 5 times a day (and somewhat losing our minds) but I’ve eaten all that back - thank you Chocolate. We keep pretty active and I love Leslie Sansone walking workouts.
Can’t wait to see what you made with these gorgeous fabrics.!!
Jars of clay not jugs. 2Cor.4:7-9 My favorite!
I bought the same pattern, but haven't sewn it yet. I'm so glad that you previewed it because I thought the sleeves just had a pleat in them. I'm with you. I don't like the split so if there is enough, bending space, I will sew the sleeves closed. Since you had no alterations to make, I see right away I have to lower the bust dart. ( I'm no longer young and perky lol).
Those split sleeves were a huge disappointment BUT I didn’t use very loosey-goosey fabric. I can’t help but think they’d be better in something like rayon challis, who knows. This dress was long ago cut into a top, lol, so I think it was a fail then save.
I love all your makes. Thanks for the video.
Thank you Viv. Love all your makes and your fabrics are beautiful. Always a pleasure to see you. Hope you have a great time.
Enjoy your trip! Here's a quick idea you might want to pass along to your viewers. If you happen to find random pattern pieces you want to pair up with the envelope just look the pattern number up on E-Bay. You can see what envelope you are looking for by sight without having to look at pattern numbers which saves time.
Enjoy your trip
Most of her stuff is not my style, she doesn't do enough classics in neutrals. But her delivery is so annoying. Hard to listen to. I get misophonia from her voice.
😂😂😂 you’re killing me with your sewing misadventure! Thanks so much for making me laugh out loud!!
Did the magic closet help you love the gorgeous purple Koko Beal pattern hack? I really hope so, it looked great on you!
Lovely, Fun vacation makes ❤️❤️❤️
Vivmom, I am making a costume for my son and it is a pirate jacket. I am a new sewer and don't know what material to buy. It will be hot. Simplicity 4923. I need help please.
Hi Diana, that looks like fun! I’d go with a lightweight velvet for the vest (and probably not line it, if it calls for lining), lightweight cotton gauze or double gauze for the puffy shirt, and a cotton broadcloth for the pants/jacket. The jacket will need slightly heavier fabric than the shirt, hence the cotton broadcloth. You could also do any thin cotton for the puffy shirt - batiste, voile or lawn. People claim polyesters are hot; I’ve never particularly noticed that - your call - polys will cost less than cottons. Rayon challis would also be fine for the shirt, it is drapey and doesn’t hold structure, so it wouldn’t do for the jacket or vest. All the best!!
@@vivmomsews4962 Thank you so much for your quick reply. I will look for material this weekend. Have a great vacation. Love your videos!

You look great in everything! Enjoy your trips!❤
These outfits are all my jam , enjoy❤
Love every outfit you sewed! My favorite is the blue and orange shirt/skirt
My favs are the little Vogue dress that you had on first and the last dress with the Russian dolls was a nice bookend to close out the show! Everything else looked wonderful, but we all have our favorites, enjoying the show.
If I didn’t have a belly, I would make that last dress!
Hope you’re enjoying your California vacay! I always wondered where you were and I found you a week ago and I’ve been binging on your monthly videos. The result is I am back in my sewing room, I am going through hundreds of old patterns that I have accumulated (I mean, collected😂) and looking at them in a different way. It is. Thank you, thank you thank you for continuing this and being here and reigniting a love for fabric, patterns, and every part of sewing, including ripping out seams on which I could probably do a five part class on UA-cam. This is written with much love and thankfulness!!!!
Hi Dee! Thanks for this sweet note. I’m so overjoyed to hear that you’re back in your sewing room!! Keep up the good work!!💕
